Our Story
Young entrepreneur and keen woodworker Daniel Gale began making handcrafted gifts in the back of his parents garage. After achieving his City & Guild fine furniture qualification and developing his knowledge and experience working with top local furniture makers Daniel decided to start his own business.
In 2006 Inwood Design was born
Working in a shared workshop at Duck Farm with a handful of machines Daniel made small one-off pieces of furniture.
In 2009 Inwood Design out grew it's premises and Daniel decided to move his workshop across the yard to a larger unit.
Inwood Design continued to go from strength to strength and soon an extention was needed to keep up with the work demands. It was now that Daniel taught himself to spray, installed a spray booth and employed his first member of staff.
The Big Move
In 2014 Inwood Design once again out grew it's extended unit and with no room for further expansions Daniel Made the decision to move to Louds Mill in Dorchester. With help from his family and friends the new premises was transformed from an empty shell to 2 storey workshop.
The business continued to flourish and by 2017 the 2-storey workshop needed to be extended again. Daniel and the team built a single-storey extension of the workshop and converted some shipping containers into new offices. By 2019 Inwood Design was so busy it had to upgrade the CNC capabilities to keep up with the amount of work and these new machines were to go into the new extension.
2022 was the year Daniel had to make another big move and Inwood Design acquired another premises across the road from their current workshop at Louds Mill so the spraying and finishing department could move into its own workshop. With the move, more containers were converted into another workshop will additional storage space.
Now in 2024 the company is a 15+ personel team working across a variety of different projects, we have undertaken 2 big build projects including a full scale barn conversion. Inwood Design continues to grow, develop and improve in all aspects of the interior and exterior design industry.
